It has recently been announced by 8minuteenergy, one of the largest US-based independent solar power developers that they are expanding into the storage of energy with a huge 1GW pipeline.
As one of the biggest renewables developers in the US that is owned and operated independently; 8minuteenergy is now collaborating with various vendors in order to deliver flywheels, lithium-Ion batteries and flow batteries, along with a variety of other resources for storage.
Approval for Purchase Power Agreement in Kern County
Just last month, in April; 8minuteenergy confirmed they had been given the green light to go ahead and develop Kern County’s Springbok 3 Solar Farm. The agreement was signed on behalf of the LA Department of Power and Water.
With a firm focus on standalone storage as well as developments which are classified as solar-plus-storage, it is set to continue with this success. They are also looking at projects in California, Texas and the Southeast.
